A 73-foot fishing vessel crashed into several moored vessels and a pier on Wednesday morning in the Lake Washington Ship Canal just west of the Ballard Bridge.
The U.S. Coast Guard responded to the incident, along with pollution teams to mitigate any environmental impacts.
The Coast Guard said about five to six other boats were damaged during the incident. The fishing vessel was moved to Fisherman’s Terminal, and the Seattle District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is managing the dock damage.
The Coast Guard said the “preliminary reports point to a mechanical failure aboard the fishing vessel” which cause the crash.
