Ballard Farmers Market to host 3rd annual Pride Parade on June 8

Ballard’s weekly farmers market will take on added significance this Sunday, June 8, as it hosts its third annual Pride Parade and celebration.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of NW Market Street and 22nd Avenue NW. Unlike traditional parades, this one will move directly through the farmers market, integrating vendors, visitors, and participants into a single flow of celebration. Leading the parade will be Ballard High’s brass band.

Organizers note that due to the unique layout, there won’t be space for spectators to sit, but everyone is encouraged to walk in the parade.

Throughout the day, LGBTQIA+ performers will appear at various points along the market route. A DragShow Showcase is planned for 11 a.m. at Bergen Place, featuring local performers including MC Sasha Scarlett, Ember Royale, Cosmo, Cordelia Specifically, and Reign Ferrah James.

Sunday’s Pride celebration will run alongside regular market hours.
