BoBu brings walk-up and drive-thru pizza and pretzels to Crown Hill

There’s a new walk-up and drive-thru pizza and pretzel spot in Crown Hill: It’s called BoBu, located at 817 NW 85th St.

Two lifelong friends, Florin Bucur and Nick Bodea, opened BoBu in April, which serves pizzas, calzones, pretzels, and sandwiches out of a converted shipping container.

Bucur said BoBu “combines the convenience of fast food with the quality of artisanal pizza, calzones and pretzels, offering a quick yet satisfying option for busy customers.”

The menu includes pizza by the slice or whole pies with flavors such as the BoBu Special (tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, prosciutto cotto, mushrooms, olive oil), margherita (tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, fresh basil, olive oil), and funghi (tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, mushrooms, fresh basil). They also have sandwiches with vegetarian options and calzones.

Customers can order at the window, use the drive-thru, place orders through DoorDash, UberEats, Clover (Google), or by phone.

“We had a lot of positive feedback from the community so far, positive comments about our ‘cute’ and modern establishment and about the ‘awesome’ taste of our food, which gives us continuous hope that we can make a little difference,” Bucur told My Ballard. “Our mission it’s not just about efficiency—it’s about delivering an elevated food experience without sacrificing taste.”
