About Dr. Scopetta

Dr. Scopetta is recognized for his specialization in dermatopathology—the microscopic diagnosis of skin diseases. He completed his medical degree at the University of Kentucky, followed by advanced training at Tulane University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He further honed his skills with a dermatopathology fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. His career includes significant experience at the Portland VA Medical Center, where he contributed to diagnostic work, education, and multidisciplinary tumor boards.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Scopetta is passionate about serving Ballard’s diverse community. He is dedicated to individualized, patient-centered care and is known for his approachable manner and commitment to educating patients about their skin health.

Outside of work, Dr. Scopetta leads a vibrant and well-rounded life. He’s an avid runner and enjoys spending time outdoors fishing. When he’s at home, you might find him experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or relaxing to his favorite music. He’s also a trivia enthusiast and cherishes time with his beloved collie.
