Gunfire damages Ballard window displaying political signs, investigation underway

Seattle police are investigating after gunfire struck a residential window in Ballard over the weekend. The window was displaying political signs—one supporting President Donald Trump and another featuring a Confederate design.

The incident happened at around 3 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of NW 56th Street. According to police, no injuries were reported, but the shot shattered the glass in the front window of the home.

Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Bias Crimes Unit have taken the lead on the case, with support from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit. Police say the investigation is ongoing and active, and they have not released any further details about potential suspects or motives.

As of now, authorities have not confirmed whether the incident is being treated as a hate crime.
