Sustainable Ballard Festival set for Sept. 27

The annual Sustainable Ballard Festival will return on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Loyal Heights Community Center lawn (2101 NW 77th St).

This free, family-friendly event will feature live music from Brothers Elmore, Mimosa String Quartet, and Asher Deaver of Old Coast, along with food trucks, games, and workshops focused on sustainable living. Activities include apple pressing, solar race car racing, birdhouse-making with the Ballard Tool Library, a plant exchange, and a game and puzzle swap.

Visitors can explore local sustainable businesses and nonprofits, sample eco-friendly products, and enter a raffle for prizes including an electric bike from Electric & Folding Bikes NW.

Sustainable Ballard is a neighborhood nonprofit that promotes community resilience and environmentally friendly practices. Volunteers are still needed to help with this year’s event.
