Cloudy Cafe (6420 24th Ave NW), an Indonesian-inspired bakery, is now open.
Owner Dionne Himmelfarb tells My Ballard their soft opening is with a limited menu as they’re still training their bakers. They will eventually have a full menu of espresso options and hot items from the kitchen, she said.
Cloudy Cafe’s full menu will feature a mix of Indonesian and French-inspired breakfast and lunch dishes. Options will include a chicken and waffle plate made with boneless Indonesian fried chicken and pandan waffle, a croissant benedict with ham and hollandaise, and a regular breakfast with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and milk bread.

Lighter choices include a veggie bowl with arugula, roasted vegetables, avocado, and XO sauce, or a fruit bowl with granola, yogurt, and seasonal berries. The menu also offers pancakes, French toast, and Dutch baby pancakes in both sweet and savory versions.
Other menu items include quiches, tartines such as a croque madame and grilled cheese with tomato soup, and a variety of housemade pastries and desserts. A small selection of grab-and-go sandwiches and baked breads rounds out its offerings.
Cloudy Cafe has moved into the former Watson’s Counter location, which closed in December.
Cloudy Cafe’s hours will be Wednesday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
