Blue Ridge Coffee House now open on 15th Ave NW

There’s a new coffee shop in the neighborhood: Blue Ridge Coffee House opened its doors over the weekend at 9925 15th Ave NW.

Owners Jeff and Ashleigh Root are behind the new cafe, which previously housed Blue Ridge Realty. The Roots had intended to open last year, but they encountered some permitting delays and finally opened on January 4.

The original structure was built in 1932. It was almost completely reconstructed while maintaining the existing wall panels during the renovation with help from Workshop 315, Hyrel Mathias Interior Design, and Sage and Stone.

Blue Ridge has a full espresso menu and food, including sandwiches such as turkey & swiss, chicken salad, Italian, and even a PB & J. They have two bowls on the menu—a soba noodle bowl and a Northwest protein bowl—and two salad options.

Pastries take center stage at Blue Ridge, with almond bostocks, cranberry darlings, vanilla buns, coffee cakes, and more, including vegan and gluten-free treats. They also serve ice cream and beer/wine.

Blue Ridge is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, and 8 a.m. to noon on Sundays.
