The coffee and bike shop Cycle & Coffee on the Burke-Gilman Trail (4013 Leary Way NW) has closed.
The news came via a letter posted to customers saying they were unexpectedly closing up shop.
“Unfortunately and unexpectedly, today was our last day open as a business,” they wrote in their note posted Jan. 15. “Like many other businesses, we have been unable to survive the skyrocketing costs of doing business in Seattle, particularly in food service.”
Cycle & Coffee is one of several recent closures in the past month or so in Fremont and Ballard, marking a trend of challenging conditions for small businesses.
The owners mentioned they’re looking for someone to take over the business.
“We are hoping this is not the official end of Cycle & Coffee, and that a new owner will continue this community. For now though, this is the end for us.”
