The Phinney-founded interior design shop The Phinery is planning the grand opening of its new home studio and home furnishings store in Ballard for March 7.
Becky Ducsik first opened The Phinery on Phinney Ridge 10 years ago. She moved the business to the former Morgan’s Kitchen and Bath location at 8055 15th Ave NW with plans to grow and evolve the company.
“When I originally toured the new building, I immediately saw The Phinery thriving there. I loved the
atrium feel of the space with the original circular staircase and expansive ceilings,” Ducsik said. “The bones of the building were solid, and it just took a creative eye and some perseverance to get the building restored while infusing The Phinery character.”

The nearly 10,000-square-foot building will include a selection of furniture, home accessories, artwork, rugs, gifts, and Phinery collections. The store has 18 free parking spaces.
The Phinery is open by appointment only for design clients until March 7, when it opens to the general public every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can make an appointment online, by calling (206) 789-6512, or by emailing hello@thephinery.com.
