Drag and burlesque cabaret coming to Obec Brewing

A new monthly drag and burlesque cabaret is coming to Ballard.

Starting in March, Seattle-based Fat Bottom Productions will host a Drag & Burlesque Cabaret at Obec Brewing (1144 NW 52nd St). The cabaret will feature local and traveling burlesque performers, comedy, and drag kings and queens. The first show is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, with performances continuing on the first Sunday of each month starting in April.

“We’re excited to bring our Beer & Burlesque shows back to Ballard,” Moxie Blue, founder of Fat Bottom Productions, said. “We’ve missed the Ballard community, and Obec is a great place to bring the community back together.”

Stacey Jehlik, co-founder of Obec, said, “We can’t wait for this new collaboration with Fat Bottom Productions. It’s another fun reason for people to come out and celebrate community.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. The March 8 event will feature burlesque performances by Lavish the Jewel, Amara Strutt, and The Blacksparrow; drag by Sherwood Ryder; comedy by Mx. Pucks A’Plenty; and will be hosted by Moxie Blue.

Fat Bottom Productions was founded in 2019 by Moxie Blue to showcase diverse burlesque and drag talent. The company presents productions featuring BIPOC performers, non-traditional burlesque, drag kings and queens, comedy, and its annual MILF show. Fat Bottom Productions currently hosts shows at venues around the Seattle area, as well as quarterly and special shows in other locations, including Astoria, Oregon.

Tickets are available for the March 8 show.
