The annual flower planters are coming back to Ballard this spring.
The flower planter project, organized by the Ballard Alliance in 2024, is entering its third year. It’s part of the organization’s Neighborhood Beautification efforts, which also commissioned artists to paint utility boxes around downtown Ballard a few years back.
This year, there will be 26 flower planters around Ballard, each one sponsored by local businesses and neighbors, who get small placards in the flower planters noting their support.
Here’s where the Ballard Alliance put last year’s planters:

The Ballard Alliance is also seeking help with maintaining the flowers. They’re looking for volunteer planter caregivers on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. throughout the summer, with an optional coffee social hour afterwards.
The Alliance says they expect to have the planters installed by mid-May.
