Dough Joy at 2052 NW Market St was burglarized this week, which happens to also be its 5th anniversary week.
“Not the Birthday gift we were hoping for,” the owners shared on Instagram. “But if you know a locksmith, and love Dough Joy, we’ll trade you with a very large and sweet gift card to help fix our door lock that was drilled out (for the 3rd time at Ballard).”
Dough Joy opened in Ballard in 2024 in the former Cupcake Royale location. It started out as a food truck in 2021 and now has three locations: Ballard, Capitol Hill, and West Seattle.
“While we often absorb the financial impact of things like this, don’t share, and don’t post about it, this year has been especially difficult for our small business, and many others,” they said.
“If you wish to support our team and Dough Joy, purchasing a beverage or an extra donut would go a long way as well to help make up for what was taken.”
Another way to support Dough Joy is to visit this week for its anniversary specials: They have their birthday cake donut available at all locations, and you can earn extra Sprinkles Rewards on all orders this week.
