Dirty Couch Brewing moving into former Wheelie Pop space in Ballard

Dirty Couch Brewing is relocating to Ballard, taking over the former Wheelie Pop Brewing taproom (1110 NW 50th St) in the Ballard Brewery District.

The brewery announced Monday that it will open a new taproom later this summer at the former Wheelie Pop location at 1110 NW 50th St. An official opening date has not yet been announced, though Dirty Couch said it expects to welcome customers in early August.

The move comes just weeks after Wheelie Pop Brewing closed its Ballard location. Wheelie Pop announced in May that it would permanently close the brewery and taproom after nearly four and a half years in Ballard, with its final day of operation on June 14. The company continues to operate its Mill Creek location.

Dirty Couch Brewing first opened its Magnolia taproom in 2019 at 2715 W Fort St, specializing in barrel-aged sour and wild ales. Earlier this year, the brewery announced it would leave Magnolia after its lease expires in July.

The brewery said it will announce its official opening date for the Ballard taproom in the coming weeks.
