Wheelie Pop Brewing to close Ballard location

Wheelie Pop Brewing is closing its Ballard location (1110 NW 50th St) next month.

The brewery posted the announcement on social media, saying its last day will be June 14.

“After much consideration, we’re sad to announce that Sunday, June 14th will be the last day of operations for our Ballard brewery and taproom,” Wheelie Pop said in its Instagram post.

Co-owners Jeremy Johnson and Mark Silverstein began brewing beer together in 2017 out of Johnson’s Crown Hill garage while working full-time careers in tunneling engineering and finance. What started as a hobby gradually evolved into a business, leading the pair to eventually leave their day jobs and focus full-time on Wheelie Pop. The brewery later became part of Seattle’s growing Ballard Brewery District when Wheelie Pop opened its Ballard location in December 2021.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has visited and supported us for the past 4.5 years on this journey. Special thanks to the Pit Crew Mug Club members. The regular customers that we’ve gotten to know and become friends with, the local breweries that we’ve had the opportunity to work with and get to know, and the bars and the restaurants that supported us.”

Wheelie Pop will keep its Mill Creek location open.
