Ballard’s annual block party hosted by Rooftop Brewing and the Jolly Roger (1111 NW Ballard Way) will return on Saturday, Aug. 8, with a full day of live music, food, games and beer releases.
The free event runs from noon to midnight at the Jolly Roger, with no cover charge.
According to organizers, the annual celebration combines traditions from Rooftop Brewing and Maritime Pacific Brewing Company, which have each hosted summer events over the years to celebrate anniversaries, new beer releases and the summer season.
This year’s event comes a year after Rooftop Brewing merged with Maritime Pacific Brewing following the retirement of Maritime Pacific founders George and Jane Hancock. Rooftop took over operations at the brewery and Jolly Roger Taproom at 1111 NW Ballard Way after an August 2024 fire forced the closure of Rooftop’s Interbay brewery, with plans to continue serving beers from both brands under one roof.
This year’s block party will feature live music beginning at noon in the venue’s outdoor mural amphitheater. The lineup includes:
- Noon: Blue Healers
- 1:30 p.m.: Cresting
- 3 p.m.: M3
- 4:30 p.m.: Rose Peak
- 6 p.m.: Big Hair
- 7:30 p.m.: Black Ends
- 9 p.m.: The Hasslers
- 10:30 p.m.: DJ set
Rooftop Brewing will also debut two new beers during the event:
- Palouse Helles (4.2% ABV): A Munich-style Helles lager brewed with Baronesse Pilsner malt from Joseph’s Grainery in Colfax using Washington-grown ingredients.
- Modern Pale Ale (5% ABV): Brewed with Riwaka and Mandarina Bavaria hops, with Rakau SubZero hop kief added during conditioning.
The event will also include an outdoor barbecue with vegetarian options, lawn games such as cornhole, Connect 4 and Jenga, and additional community activities.
The Block Party takes place Saturday, Aug. 8, from noon to midnight at the Jolly Roger, 1111 NW Ballard Way.
