Urban Family Brewing (1103 NW 52nd St) is expanding beyond Ballard, planning to open a new restaurant on Seattle’s waterfront later this summer.
The brewery announced the new location on Instagram, saying the restaurant will open at 1022 Alaskan Way, across from Ivar’s and within walking distance of the Washington State Ferries terminal, Pike Place Market, and Seattle’s stadiums.
“Our Ballard taproom needs a sibling, so we figured we may as well go big, right?” the brewery shared on Instagram.
According to the announcement, the new restaurant will serve Urban Family Brewing’s beers alongside a full bar featuring craft cocktails, local wines, coffee, and an in-house food menu.
The food program will be led by Chris and Sandra Curtiss and will feature Grandma-style square pizzas, small plates and snacks, fresh salads, and stacked focaccia sandwiches. The pizzas will be baked in square pans to create what the brewery describes as a “crispy yet fluffy crust” with caramelized cheese around the edges.
The restaurant will include a 2,500-square-foot indoor dining area and a 4,000-square-foot patio overlooking the waterfront.
Urban Family Brewing, which opened its Ballard location six years ago after moving from Magnolia, said it is currently targeting an opening in late August or early September.
