Many Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Closures include all community centers, including the Ballard and Loyal Heights Community Centers, plus teen life centers and indoor swimming pools, including the Ballard Pool. Recreation programs will also be canceled for the day.
The Green Lake Small Craft Center, Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center and Amy Yee Tennis Center will be closed. The Seattle Japanese Garden and Volunteer Park Conservatory will remain closed as part of their regular Monday schedules.
City parks will remain open, along with boat ramps, golf courses and driving ranges. Colman and Mounger outdoor pools and spray parks will operate on regular or modified schedules.
Wading pools at Green Lake Park, Lincoln Park, Van Asselt Community Center, and Volunteer Park are scheduled to open from noon to 7 p.m., weather permitting. Seattle Parks recommends calling the wading pool hotline at 206-684-7796 to confirm.
Lifeguards will be on duty from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Madison Beach, West Green Lake Beach, Matthews Beach, and Seward Park Beach. Visitors can check the Public Health swim beach monitoring page for closures related to high bacteria levels.
