The LA-founded Big Bud Press is opening its first store in Seattle at the old Show Pony location in Fremont (3501 Fremont Ave N).
According to the company, Big Bud Press specializes in unisex everyday clothing and manufactures its products domestically.
The Los Angeles-based brand is known for its brightly colored, workwear-inspired clothing, including jumpsuits, overalls, and utility-style pants. Big Bud Press has built a following around its retro-inspired aesthetic, inclusive sizing, and manufacturing practices.
The Seattle store expands Big Bud Press’s small but growing retail footprint. Before opening in Fremont, the company operated stores in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Palm Springs. Its retail locations are concentrated in neighborhoods known for independent businesses and creative communities, including Highland Park and Echo Park in Los Angeles, the Lower East Side in New York, and Wicker Park in Chicago.
The Fremont location marks the brand’s first store in the Pacific Northwest.
The store opening comes at a time of significant change in Fremont, as the block formerly home to Norm’s, Roxy’s, and Backdoor will soon become an 185-unit apartment building.
