Ballard Art Walk set for Saturday

This Saturday is the monthly Ballard Art Walk, happening at venues all over the neighborhood. The Art Walk is from 6 to 9 p.m. on November 9, and will showcase painting, glass art, sculpture, performance and more.

This month BallardWorks (2856 NW Market St) will be featuring works by Ballard printmaker Nancy Reithaar and photographer Suzanne Lorenz. Reithaar is reflecting on her process, focus and evolution of her ten years of exhibitions. “This show is a celebration of a decade of collaboration with local businesses and artists in our vibrant Ballard community,” says Reithaar. This exhibition will feature some of her earliest prints of elephants, blue herons and cats.

Blowing Sands Glass Studio (5805 14th Ave NW) will be featuring work by artist Rhonda Williams-Parent. “This show is a mixture of the follies and the freaks from the vintage carnival scene. I am calling it an encore carnival because all the bits and parts in my assemblages and collages are getting an second opportunity to strut their stuff, as carnival characters,” says Williams-Parent.

Textile artist Nan Yurkanis will have works on display at Art & Soul (2860 NW Market St) during this month’s Art Walk. The show titled “Golden Days” will feature original prints and quilts by Yurkanis.
