Ballard High gymnasts place fourth at state

Ballard high school athletes are on a roll, with the gymnastics team placing fourth at yesterday’s state competition.

The Ballard team finished with a total score of 177.825, coming in behind Kamiakin (179.550),  Lake Washington (180.275) and Holy Names (181.325).

And, the team had another reason to celebrate: BHS athlete Lianne Kistler came in 3rd place all-around, with a combined score of 37.575.

“These eight had an absolutely fantastic meet, a record high score, and are 4th in State!,” the team tweeted yesterday. “They came in with confidence and pulled together to have their best bars/beam this season (and great floor/vault). What an accomplishment to peak at the right time and perform when it counts. So proud!”

Congratulations to the team!
