It is what it is! The chili is hot and the beer is cold; the juke box has a great mix of oldies and newbies. No aire’s required to eat here - leave your “food snob” attitude at home and just come hungry.

I love Mike’s. Judy said it best - hot chili, cold beer, nothing fancy. A great alternative to the hipster-swank restaurants taking over Ballard right now. Classic, not trendy.

Ah shoot, as a native, I love Mike’s too- have for years! Still my favorite chili. Having said that, some of those hipster-swank restaurants server some pretty damn good food! :-)

i do like mikes as a bar. i’m not necessarily a food snob, but i find the chili disgusting. but the beer is cold and the folks are good.

I love Mike’s. The chili itself is awesome! The other items are pretty typical. But it is a great environment to have beer, eat chili, and watch some sports.

Mike’s recipe is alot like Cinncinati chili. If you know what that is, and you’ve been looking for a Seattle joint that serves it, head on over to Mike’s.
