Pet store temporarily closed

The Seattle Animal Control responded to the Ballard Pet Store on 15th Ave. and 62nd on Sunday night after receiving a complaint. The store was closed at the time, and Animal Control tells us that they discovered no evidence of negligence. We stopped by Wednesday evening to take a look around, but a sign on the door said the store was closed due to an illness.

We could see a few puppies running around inside, and they appeared to our untrained eye to be in good shape. My Ballard reader Adrian, who initially tipped us on the Animal Control’s visit, says the Ballard Pet Store has been the subject of some controversy in the past, which looks to be the case when you read some of the reviews on Yelp.
