So what’s the story?
The Spirit station is selling $4 regular unleaded gas. For the record, we didn’t see anyone filling up while we were there. Owner Harold Hezel told KING that he sells only a few hundred gallons — worth $20-30 in profit — to longtime, full serve regulars. “Everybody that’s shopping price left long ago,” he said. “Little stations like me haven’t been competitive in ten years.”
By the way, the average gas price for the Seattle area is $3.82 — a record high — according to the AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.
