Shed pounds in the Ballard Fitness Fest

With the goal of helping people get fit and lose weight, EDGE Personal Training is once again hosting the Ballard Fitness Fest. The fest is a three-month weight loss challenge pitting neighbor against neighbor, friend against friend and husband against wife, to see who can lose the largest percentage of their body weight.

Last year a self-proclaimed “french fry addict” lost 37 pounds, 9.5 percent of his body fat and 30 pounds of body fat. In 2010 the winner lost more than half his body fat.

The third annual Ballard Fitness Fest starts February 20th and ends May 25th and is open to anyone living or working in Ballard or surrounding neighborhoods. Contestants pay a $15 (plus tax) fee for a fitness assessment between February 20th and 28th. Work out for three months and get retested between May 18th and May 25th. The grand prize winner will be announced on June 1st. During the fest, Eric Hronich, the owner of EDGE Personal Training will knock $5 off each 55 minute training session, up to ten sessions.

“It’s an opportunity to get in better shape for the summer and a chance to win some great prizes. What could be cooler than that?” asks Hroncich.

The winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to a Ballard Business of their choice plus three free training sessions at EDGE Personal Training ($240 value).
