Tomorrow night, there will be a guided tour through the new Greenfire Campus at 2034 NW 56th St. The Greenfire Campus has been under construction for about a year, and the tour tomorrow will include a talk by architect Ray Johnston, who will highlight some of the project’s green features such as ground-source heat pumps, solar panels, rainwater collection, grey water reuse and even a green roof with edible and native plants.
The Greenfire Campus was, “designed to promote community while conserving resources and treading lightly on the land,” according to the event page. They say 50 percent of the lot will be dedicated to urban wildlife habitat and gardens, including P-patches and urban agriculture space.
