Design Review Board meeting for apartments next to Ballard Lofts development

siteTonight there will be an Early Design Guidance meeting to discuss the proposal for a new apartment building on the same block as the Ballard Lofts development at NW 65th St. and 24th Ave NW. The proposal is for a mixed-use project between four and six stories above grade over a subgrade parking garage with ground-floor street-facing retails or live/work units, according to the Department of Planning and Development (DPD).

As is stated in the proposal details, “a significant opportunity exists to tie the current project to a neighboring 5-story mixed-use project to the north and west…which includes a large entry courtyard off 24th Ave NW.” The development objectives include 20-25 residential apartment units, over four thousand square feet of retail or live/work units on the ground floor, and 22-40 on-site parking stalls in the underground parking garage.

The meeting tonight will be at Ballard High School Library at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will also discuss an apartment proposal at 101 85th St.
