Mustard and Co. sets up shop in Ballard

Seattle artisan mustard creators Mustard and Co. has moved its headquarters to our neighborhood at 4501 Shilshole Ave NW #205.

The business was born in 2013 when founders Bryan Mitchiner and Justin Hoffman combined their talents to create delicious, locally made mustards for the Seattle community.

Mustard and Co. originally operated out of Georgetown and has recently moved to the ‘hood.

The story began when Hoffman read the label of a “fancy honey mustard” back in his native Wisconsin and was surprised to see so many “cheap, uninspired ingredients” in a high-end mustard. He then began experimenting with his own recipe which eventually led to the creation of Mustard and Co.

According to Seattle Weekly, Mustard and Co.’s products have been popping up in specialty shops all over Seattle, including at Macrina Bakery.

Hoffman and Mitchiner are excited to be operating from Ballard and will be hosting a Warehouse Party on Saturday, March 26, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. All are welcome.

The event will feature Mustard and Co. products along with those from Krista’s Baking Co., Stocked General (which includes: Bonache Sauce CompanyLos RoastWei KitchenMike’s Fine BrinesHatchup Katchup, and Georgetown Pantry Supply) and CloudLine. Free beer will also be involved!

“It will be a chance for folks to see our new space, check out some products and new things we’re doing, drink some free beer, and have fun. We look forward to developing our connection with the neighborhood and all the great folks here,” says Hoffman.

Welcome to the neighborhood Mustard and Co.
