Wild & Scenic Film Fest coming to Tractor Tavern

A one-day film festival is coming to Tractor Tavern, and the organizers are looking for a few good volunteers.

On January 22, local small-farm business incubator Viva Farms will be presenting a selection of films from the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, which is held annually just outside of Nevada City, CA. The films all center around the importance of sustainable agriculture, land conservation, and environmental activism.

The organizers tell My Ballard that they need multiple volunteers for the event. They’re looking for help setting up, greeting, tabling, selling swag and raffle tickets, and taking down at the end of the night. Shifts will be between 4pm and 12am. All volunteers will receive free admission, complimentary appetizers, and a drink ticket. To sign up, contact the lead volunteer organizer Rachel at rachel@vivafarms.org.

The event is 21+, and tickets are $25.

Factory farming is very toxic for the environment and should not be glorified. What happened to videos of apple and persimmon picking?

I can never tell if your serious….but really? You think this is glorifying factory farming? Sounds pretty grass roots to me. Do you ever check sources before you begin typing?

Ah good. This way the Sensitive NeoSeattleites can retain their rural pretensions without having to be around dirty farm proles who tell dirty jokes, own guns, and grow our food.

Fun fact: all your precious little furball animals get ground up by the combines and tractors, Vegans.
Sleep tight!

C’mon Truth that’s pretty weak even for you.
Like most of the “deplorables” as you call us, I’m descended from farm stock.
