Sustainable Ballard Festival is on Saturday

Ballard’s yearly eclectic and environmentally conscious festival is happening this weekend.

This year’s Sustainable Ballard Festival has the theme Green Steps, which “focuses on actions big and small that neighbors can take to reduce their carbon footprint,” Sustainable Ballard organizers say.

Some of the activities will include apple cider pressing, electric car viewing, electric bike testing, solar installation information, and organic food delivery information. For kids, they’ll have recycled-material jewelry making, and other art projects.

The organizers say they could use some more volunteers — if you’re interested in helping out for the festival, click here.

The free festival will be at Ballard Commons Park from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, Sept. 28th.

      1. “People of Ballard get diverse”. HUH? Say what? So what are we then supposed to do, apply black face and go? Becoming anything else other than a left-coast liberal would be awesome though. Your hyper-sensitivities are terrible.

      2. What are we supposed to do to coddle up to your fantasies; apply black face and then go? Your incessant crazed rants show just who you get your “news” from. Your HYPER-sensitivities are comedic relief though. I’ve been taught how to think. You’ve been taught WHAT to feel. Boring

        1. No, you’ve been told what to think by Fascist News. Turn that channel off, get out from behind the keyboard and go outside. Maybe seek some counseling.

          1. Agreed, only get news from left-leaning publications. The others are just trying to trick you!

      3. elenchos2- take a closer look at that picture. I can see about 20 people that one could possibly tell the skin color, of those at least 5 are not what you would call white.
While Ballard is not as diverse in population as other neighborhoods in Seattle, the population is not ALL white thank goodness.
