Large chamber reopens at Ballard Locks

The Ballard Locks are back to normal lockages again as workers resolved an electrical issue yesterday that shut down the large chamber for a day.

Maintenance crews resolved a limit switch issue that affected all the miter gates on the large chamber. They also cleared debris from under one of the gates, an issue which caused a partial closure on Saturday.

As a reminder, the small chamber will be closing from Jan. 6 – 24 for annual maintenance, and the large chamber will be closed from Feb. 12 to April for the second extended closure for the Stoney Gate Valve project.
