A leaky pipe at the North Beach Pump Station has been repaired, reopening most of Blue Ridge Park beach after it was closed for poor water quality.
The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) said the low-flow leak has been stopped, reopening the adjacent privately owned Blue Ridge Park. However, a small section of the beach will remain closed pending more water quality sampling.
Previous samples were found to have high bacteria counts, and Public Health of Seattle and King County recommended the closure. With the pipe repair, the rest of the beach should reopen soon.
Great news. Now they can focus on our leaky wallets.
