Early design guidance meeting for Olympic Athletic Club and Hotel Ballard additions

Next month, there will be an opportunity to learn more about the plans to build an addition to the Olympic Athletic Club and Hotel Ballard.

The Early Design Guidance meeting will be held Monday, March 16 at 6:30pm in the Sunset Room of the Ballard Community Center (6020 28th Avenue NW).

The plans include an additional 49 rooms to the existing Hotel Ballard, and a new Olympic-size pool for the athletic club. Owner Jim Riggle said the gym’s workout space would be doubled, with more free weights, exercise machines, and training areas. Their new pool will accommodate lap swimming, lessons for kids, plus a dedicated family swim area.

If you want to comment on the project, the Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections will accept written comments through March 13 on the site planning and design issues of this project. Submit all comments and requests via email to: PRC@seattle.gov; or regular mail to: City of Seattle – SDCI – PRC, 700 5th Avenue, Suite 2000, PO Box 34019, Seattle, WA 98124-4019.
