Golden Gardens south-end parking lot reopens today

The parking lot at the south end of Golden Gardens reopened this morning.

Seattle Parks and Recreation says the parking lot will be open during park hours; 6:30am to 9:30pm. They say the temporary ADA spaces in the area will remain, and the loading zone is shifting into the parking lot. There will also be new ADA parking spaces added to the south parking lot and one at the top of the closed Golden Gardens Drive; NW 85 St and 32nd Ave NW.

Seattle Parks says they’re still receiving feedback on the Golden Gardens Drive closure. “As you might expect, it is a mixture of enthusiasm and concern,” they say. They expect to keep the closure in place until King County moves to Phase 3 of the state’s reopening plan and the other parking lots open at Golden Gardens.

“We’re working to address individual concerns as they are brought to our attention,” the department adds.

  1. so the Virus is increasing, Inslee says we may have to go backward and yet he allows expansion of possible venue increasing interactions with people.

  2. “Meanwhile, Washington for the past four days in a row — for the first time since May — has reported double-digit numbers of COVID-19 deaths. ” So while the virus appears to be ramping up, Inslee is allowing more access to venues that attract people? Almost seems and oxymoron.
