Mt Bagel setting up shop in Ballard

Ballard will gain a new bagel shop this fall: Mt Bagel has announced plans to open a brick-and-mortar at 1417 NW 54th St.

Eater Seattle reports that the wildly popular mobile bagel bakery will open the doors to their new space at the StudioWorks building in late September.

Owner Roan Hartzog told Eater that the Ballard space won’t offer dine-in or retail; just deliveries and pickup orders.

Mt Bagel will pause on deliveries until the new kitchen is operational—you can stay updated on their progress on Instagram.

  1. They are pretty good. The everything bagels are great…the salt bagels are great, too, but you need to buy at least 6 for delivery so when you freeze them (the two of us here cannot eat 6 bagels before they go stale) the salt melts off. So it will be nice to be able to go buy just a couple.

That said the caramelized onion bagels at Samara in Sunset Hill (available for takeout every weekend) are amazing. They also have gravlox and chive cream cheese.

  2. Awesome! Their bagels look delicious and I’ve only heard good things about them. But, after several failed attempts to buy them online I gave up. So, happy there’ll be a store. And happy to have a bagel shop in Ballard!
