130 units planned for 9th and Market

Yet another 5-story apartment building is being planned on NW Market St, this one taking up half of a residential block at the corner of 9th Ave NW.

The plans call for a 5-story mixed-used building with 130 units, 3,000 square feet of commercial space, and underground parking for 90 vehicles. The building would take out several residential properties—5507 9th Ave NW, and 904-926 NW Market St—that’s seven houses in total.

According to the Seattle DJC, the multi-lot development site has been for sale for over a year at just below $8 million—prospective buyer FA Johnson Development filed the apartment plans.

The development plan is one of many for that stretch of NW Market St; just across the street, 240 units are in the works. A couple blocks to the west, there are plans for a 5-story apartment where KFC currently stands (1140 NW Market St), with another 7-story apartment in the works for the Firestone building (1145 NW Market St) across the street.
