On Sunday night, Bergen Place park will be lit up with a giant menorah in honor of Hanukkah.
The annual giant menorah lighting and “Great Gelt Drop” is coming back to Ballard: The Chabad of Northwest Seattle will be hosting the event on Sunday, Dec. 5 starting at 4:30 p.m. They’ll also be recognizing the Seattle fire department, with fire truck tours available for kids.
After the Menorah lighting, firefighters will conduct the Great Gelt drop, raining chocolate down from the fire truck for everyone to collect.
They’ll also be giving out latkas and jelly doughnuts with music and a raffle for a grand prize.
