Design review meeting coming up for 7-story apartment on NW Market St and 24th

An upcoming design review meeting will discuss the new apartment complex coming to the northeast corner of NW Market St and 24th Ave NW.

The 7-story, 238-unit apartment building at 2318 NW Market St is set to take over the entire area affected by the October 2019 fire that destroyed several businesses along Market and 24th. The new apartment will also span a few doors east of the fire-affected area all the way to Ballard Station. The apartment will include ground-floor retail and parking for 168 vehicles.

The development team hasn’t released an updated design packet, but their May 2021 design packet shows the preferred design option (below) includes commercial spaces along most of the Market St. side of the building, with entry into a public courtyard. The commercial space wraps around the corner of 24th Ave NW, extending to NW 56th St.

The design meeting will be held online on March 21 at 5 p.m. You can access the meeting by following this link, and if you want to sign up to provide comments on the design during the public comment portion of the meeting, you must use the form provided in the meeting link and sign up within two hours of the start of the meeting. Each speaker will be allowed two minutes to provide feedback on the proposed design.
