Sidewalk repair work and new striping continues on NW Market St.

Construction on NW Market St continues this week, with sidewalk repairs and nighttime striping work on the schedule.

Last week, crews paved the road at NW Market St and Baker Ave NW and reopened the street and sidewalks. Paving is also completed at the southbound SR-99 on-ramp at N 46th and N Phinney Way.

Now, work has shifted to the east on N 46th St, where crews are demolishing concrete at the northbound SR-99 off-ramp. SDOT says they plan to start pouring concrete in the area in the coming weeks. However, access to Green Lake Way from northbound SR-99 will remain open.

The temporary bus stop at Whitman Ave S and N 46th St will be relocated to Woodland Park Ave N and N 46th St; Metro signs will indicate the new stop.

This weekend, SDOT plans to start conducting nighttime striping work. They’ll being removing existing striping and paint new striping on the roadway between NW Market St and 24th Ave NW and Fremont Ave N and N 46th St. Work is expected between Aug. 12 to 14.

At the intersection of NW Market St at NW 49th and 2nd Ave NW (above) crews are working to demolish and pour new concrete at the south corners. Eastbound traffic is still reduced to one lane through the work area.

Crews are also continuing to work on curb ramps and sidewalks along NW Market St for a few more months.
