Route 44 traffic improvements continue along NW Market St and N 46th St

The project to improve pedestrian safety and traffic along Route 44 is pushing forward as SDOT continues demolishing and paving along N 46th St.

Here’s a rundown of the current work happening between Ballard and Phinney/Wallingford (from SDOT)

N 46th & Whitman Ave N

Crews are continuing to install concrete road panels at the intersection of N 46th St and Whitman Ave N. After this work, crews will begin work on the adjacent sidewalks.

N 46th & Linden Ave N 

Crews continue paving work at Linden Ave N on N 46th St. This work is expected to take approximately two weeks. After that, crews will shift to reconstructing sidewalks on the north side of N 46th St between Linden Ave N and Fremont Ave N. Pedestrian detours are in place for this work. 

N 46th & Fremont Ave N   

Crews continue work on N 46th St between Fremont Ave N and Linden Ave N. Work includes sidewalk and curb ramp demolition and is expected to wrap up in a few weeks. After that, crews will shift to the southeast corner of Fremont Ave N and N 46th St. During this work you can expect lane closures adjacent to the work area and pedestrian detours. 

Sidewalk Work on NW Market St                    

Crews continue curb ramp and sidewalk work on NW Market St.                 

SDOT says they anticipate work to take another two months to complete, and that travel through these areas will continue to be impacted.
