A local public art nonprofit is organizing a public mural creation for the Ballard VFW (2812 NW Market St) on Veterans Day.
Alex Nason from Urban ArtWorks tells My Ballard that they’re taking sign-ups online for the painting event on Nov. 11.
The sign-ups are for one-hour time slots between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., but volunteers can sign up for multiple slots.
The organizers ask that any experienced painters or those who are comfortable on a ladder help with touch-ups and detail work toward the end of the day.
The mural is being designed by local artist and veteran Chris Kent of Lilly Bomb Studios and with the theme “Service with Pride.”
The painting project is being funded by the VETS ENGAGED grant.
