Police investigating shooting on Leary

Update (Sunday, June 25): Seattle Police say that a robbery caused the shooting on Friday morning.

SPD says that just before 10 a.m., officers responded to 14th and Leary and found a victim who had been shot in the leg. Medics treated the victim and transported them to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told officers that the suspect rode away on a bicycle.

Police searched the area and found clothing items belonging to the suspect and the bicycle he was riding. They also found a handgun near the discarded clothing but did not locate the suspect.

Original (Friday, June 23): Seattle Police are investigating reports of a shooting just after 10:30 a.m. Friday on NW Leary Way in Ballard

SPD says the shooting happened in the 1400 block of NW Leary Way.

The incident comes just a week after a shooting near the Leary triangle in which two people were hospitalized.
