Seattle Fire responded to the blaze at about 9 p.m. on Aug. 8 and had it extinguished by 10 p.m. No injuries are reported.

Ballard Collective is a place where artists, instructors, healing practitioners, and small business owners sell their work, run classes, and rent space. It’s located in the former Ballard Blossom building, which has had several iterations of development plans over the years, including a 7-story hotel.

The latest plans are for an 8-story, 252-unit apartment building with retail and parking for 135 vehicles. Along with 1766 NW Market St, the project area includes a one-story building currently leased to Ballard Sip and Ship, an Allstate Insurance location, and a law office building.
