The Ballard Collective artists to host ‘Fire Sale’ fundraiser Saturday at The Firestone Project

A one-night-only “Fire Sale” is happening this Saturday, Aug. 23, from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Firestone Project (1145 NW Market St). The event will raise money for The Ballard Collective artists whose studios were damaged in a fire earlier this month.

The Firestone, a former tire shop turned community art space, has hosted murals, installations, and public events this summer. Now, it’s being used to help artists recover after the Aug. 9 fire that swept through The Ballard Collective building on NW Market Street.

Saturday’s sale will feature slightly damaged but discounted artwork, new merchandise from Ink Knife Press, work by Travis Millard and Michael Sieben, music from @dirtejeans, and drinks from Drink Weird.

All proceeds will go directly to the artists affected by the fire, which destroyed or damaged a significant amount of work and supplies. A GoFundMe campaign has already raised more than $16,000 to support the displaced artists.
