Moshi Moshi has a new pair of owners after 16 years in Ballard.
The new owners, Jay and Myung, are Moshi Moshi‘s fourth owners since it opened in 2009. The announcement made it clear that the new owners would keep the restaurant open and retain all staff, the current menu, and operations.
Previous owners Rumi Ohnui and Charlie Anthe took over the business in 2019.
“My business partner, Charlie, and I have had an amazing adventure providing for and nourishing our beloved community for the last 6.5 years. We are so damn proud to leave it in the state we have elevated it to!” Ohnui wrote.
“Please continue to show the remaining crew, Jay, and Myung the same love and support you have shown us. None of our success would have been possible without you, our cherished friends, neighbors, and partners. Thank you for believing in and working together with us. Thank you for making Moshi a part of your lives. Thank you for the unforgettable memories. Thank you. We love you.”
The new owners Jay and Myung bring over 40 years of sushi experience to Moshi Moshi. They immigrated here in 1979 and have lived in Seattle ever since.
“Hello Ballard! We want to introduce ourselves. We are Myung and Jay, the new owners of Moshi Moshi,” they said. “We want to give a huge thank you to Charlie and Rumi for everything they have built and we are committed to carrying that forward with this amazing team!
