The off-leash dog area at Golden Gardens Park is temporarily closed while Seattle Parks and Recreation crews remove a fallen tree and repair fencing at the site.
According to a social media post from Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Golden Gardens Off-Leash Area will remain closed through Friday, March 13. Crews are expected to be on-site during that time to safely remove a fallen tree and complete necessary fence repairs.
The department did not say when the tree fell, but said the work is needed to address the damage and ensure the area is safe before reopening to the public.
During the closure, Seattle Parks and Recreation is encouraging dog owners to use other off-leash areas nearby. The department listed Woodland Park Off-Leash Area, located at 1000 N. 50th St., and Northacres Off-Leash Area, located at 12718 1st Ave. NE, as alternative options.
