The Ballard High School Foundation will host its seventh annual Running of the Beavers 5K run/walk on Saturday, March 21, beginning and ending at Golden Gardens Park.
The event is open to participants of all ages and is part of an ongoing Ballard High School tradition. Proceeds from the race support Ballard High School athletics, performing arts, cheer, and dance programs.
The run will start and finish at Golden Gardens Park. According to event organizers, the course follows a flat route along the shores and passes the beaver pond at Golden Gardens before returning to the finish line.
Participants who register for the event will receive a race-day T-shirt.
The fundraiser benefits the Ballard High School Foundation, which provides financial support to Ballard High School, a Seattle public school.
Registration for the event is open now through the race website. Organizers say the event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages from the Ballard community and beyond.
