Skål Beer Hall to celebrate 7 years with Makers Market

The Nordic-themed bar on Ballard Ave, Skål Beer Hall, is about to turn 7, and it’s celebrating with a Makers Market.

Skål, which opened in April 2019 at 5429 Ballard Ave NW, is a Viking mead hall theme that serves Nordic-inspired gastropub food. Think hearty meat and seafood dishes, sausages, burgers, and traditional Scandinavian items like meatballs and pickled herring with shareable bar snacks like pretzels, wings, and fries.

“For our Anniversary, we’re surrounding ourselves with some of our favorite partners over the years,” the owners shared. The Makers Market, planned for March 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include The Orcas Project, The Swedish Club, Moon Goddess Magick Apothecary, Thread of the Raven, Hyldyr, & Sea Wolf Voyages.

Skål is also launching a new mead from Jon at Oppegaard Meadery. “Inspired by our favorite spirit — aquavit — this is a caraway flavored mead aptly named Caraway to Valhalla. Come have a glass or take home gold waxed bottles to treasure in your mead vault,” they wrote.

There will be live music from Skandia Kapell, who will be live on the accordion and fiddle outside from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. They also have a new spring cocktail menu and new menu items, including the “triumphant return” of duck hearts.
