Beehive Mercantile to close Ballard storefront May 25

Beehive Mercantile & Co. (5500 14th Ave NW) has announced it will close its Ballard retail location on May 25.

In a message shared today, the shop said it has not been able to secure a new retail space. The business plans to transition to a smaller warehouse, continue online sales, and host pop-up events while it considers future options.

The store is currently holding a closing sale, with discounts on clothing, dishware, furniture, home decor, and art. Store fixtures, including displays, mannequins, and hangers, are also being sold.

Beehive Mercantile & Co. opened in Ballard in October 2020, following the closure of Classic Consignment. Owner Paula Lukoff relaunched the business after the 2019 fire at 24th Avenue NW and NW Market Street, forcing a move due to smoke damage.

The new venture combined consignment with new and vintage goods, including clothing, furniture, kitchenware, and art.
