The annual Tasty Tunes event is returning to Loyal Heights Community Center (2117 NW 77th St) on August 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. with live music, food trucks, face painting, games, and a classic car show.
Seattle Parks and Recreation says the proceeds from Tasty Tunes will go to the Loyal Heights Community Center scholarship fund to support income-eligible residents’ access to preschool and other recreational opportunities at the center throughout the year.
There will be a 21+ beer garden featuring Yonder Cider, Fremont Brewing, Rooftop Brewing, Reuben’s Brews, Old Stove, and Great Notion. There will also be live music from 80s cover band The Scrunchies, School of Rock, and Generation Jones, as well as food from Dom’s Southern Style Banana Pudding, LTD Bar and Grill, Eric’s BBQ, and Secret Sausage.
And new this year, Tasty Tunes will also feature a classic car show.
The event is free, but beer garden tickets are $25 for single tickets and $40 for a couple.
At the event, Seattle Parks will have a table to share designs for the proposed Loyal Heights Community Center renovation. The project includes upgrades to aging building structures, replacing fossil-fuel-powered mechanical systems with electric systems, improving accessibility, and renovating many of the interior programming spaces. Community members will be able to view the plans, ask questions, and provide feedback at the event.
